The MAR MENOR is built like a big lagoon and is being separated from the MEDITERRAENEN SEA by a promontory called LA MANGA DEL MAR MENOR, which is 22 kilometers long and between 100 – 1300 meters wide. While the entire coast covers 73 kilometers and captivates through their beaches with crystal clear water. The complete surface of the water sums up to 135 square meters with a maximum depth of 7 meters, calling it profound would be an exaggeration.
In his limited interior you will find CABO DE PALOS with his characteristic lighthouse. To the south of LA MANGA are five volcanic islands which are also nicknamed something like small islands. These islands again are divided in 3 bigger islands (ISLAS MAYORES) which are called “ISLA PERDIGUERA”, “ISLA MAYOR OR DEL VARON” and “ISLA DEL CIERVO” and in two smaller islands (ISLAS MENORES) known as “ISLA REDONDA” and “ISLA DEL SUJETO”.
LA MANGA DEL MAR MENOR is divided into several municipalities. Starting in the north towards the south of the coast of MAR MENOR the different population have to report on the one hand to “SAN PEDRO DEL PINATAR” (including LO PAGAN and Los Cuateros), “SAN JAVIER” (including SANTIAGO DE LA RIBERA and a majority of LA MANGA), on the other hand “LOS ALCAZARES” and “CARTAGENA”, according to the surface the biggest municipality of the coast of the MAR MENOR.
The highest concentration of beaches can be found in LA MANGA. Specifically LOS ALCAZARES and LOS NAREJOS show off with their beautiful beaches, easy access through a great infrastructure.
The entire region of COSTA CALIDA is well-known for their great regional and inter-regional transport network as well as their infrastructure.
The street net stretches from MURCIA as far as CARTAGENA, municipalities such as EL CARMOLI, LOS URRUTIAS, LOS NIETOS, ISLAS MENORES, MAR DE CRISTAL, PLAYA PARAISO and part of LA MANGE DEL MAR MENOR also belong to it.

The winters are mild and the summers warm. In January the temperatures move between 5 – 6 degrees and in August between 21 – 30 degrees.
